This song is for all you siblings out there — especially those who have experienced periods of both closeness and distance from your siblings. I have only one sibling, my sister Barbara. Our relationship is complex, like most, but our love for and connection between each other has withstood all the challenges of inherent issues around age and family of origin, as well as distance and time apart. She is literally my soul sister. I know we always have each other’s back — even when it may seem we don’t. That’s the beauty of sibling love — hearts and souls entwined, till the end of time.

I sent her the first version of this song as a birthday gift a few years ago. She said it was the best birthday present ever. You can imagine how good that made me feel. Hold your siblings close to your heart and never let go.
